The SilverCare Santis toilet lift is the result of a research programme partly funded by the EU under the name: FRR - Friendly Rest Room / Intelligent Toilet / senior suitable WC, Project No.: QLK6-CT-2001-00458.
FRR was a user-centred research project which developed prototypes of innovative self-adapting toilets to help the elderly and persons with disabilities. 11 institutions in 5 European countries who participated in the development have confirmed the benefits for both users and caregivers through intensive user testing.
